Client Instructions

Ensuring that each of my clients enjoys a relaxing experience is one of my top priorities at Urban Body Massage. These quick tips will help you get the most out of your visit.

Location:

Waco Regional Tennis & Fitness at 900 Lake Shore Dr in Waco. Come in the front entrance, head left, and it’s the first turn to your left.

For Ridgewood members, come in the front entrance, head downstairs, and you’ll find me across from the women’s locker room.

Medical Intake:

If it’s your first visit, it’s important to let me know of any physical conditions (high blood pressure, injuries, surgeries, or medications) that may be important to your health. If you’re a returning customer, please notify any updates to your health.

Arrival:

Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your service. I do not allow time to go over if you’re late.

Dress Code:

During your massage, I want you to be completely comfortable. For some, that means undressing fully, while others prefer to wear underwear or shorts. However,  please dress appropriately for your treatment (e.g. if you’re going to have work done on your hips, please wear high rise underwear or remove them). Plan ahead to get the most out of your experience.

Communication:

Communication is key to an excellent massage. You are encouraged to let me know if you have a specific area you’d like to work on, if you prefer deeper or lighter pressure or if you experience discomfort at any time. Curious about a treatment? I’m happy to answer any questions.

Gratuity:

Tips are never expected, but always appreciated.

Post-Massage Care:

The day of your massage is the most important day of recovery. Drink enough water to be going to the bathroom every 1.5 to 2 hours. Eat quality calories that will help you repair damaged muscle tissue. Ice any sore spots for 20 minutes – the treatment should be cold enough that it’s uncomfortable after only a couple of minutes. Get a full night’s rest.

Self Care:

Stretch regularly to maintain flexibility and reduce muscle tightness. For guided stretching, check out this YouTube playlist from physical therapist and strength coach Jeff Cavaliere.
